My Way to Health – 8 Week Program
Week 3 – Dave – 6’4” 295.2 lbs.
Well, week 3 of my healthy living course is now in the books. I’m now back down 1 pound, so I’m heading in the right direction. I choose to look at losing weight the same way banks look at compounding. One pound a week isn’t much but if you compound it over 52 weeks, it’s 52 pounds. Now there are exceptions (Body type, height etc.), but the average is 10 pounds per pant size, so if I keep up this pace, I’ll be wearing new clothes for New Year’s Day.
Week 3 – Was a checkup on the guidelines introduced in weeks 1 & 2. Continued food journaling is necessary in addition to continuing your exercise plan. In addition, I am now using the smaller plates for supper and utilizing the 5:60 rule (Especially when blogging), as time flies when you’re on the computer. New concepts introduced in week three to aid us were …
1. Choose to have a positive attitude. Healthy living begins with adopting a positive attitude. Some possibilities are listening to songs that make you happy, putting positive affirmations on sticky notes around the house or treating yourself to a spa treatment.
2. Enjoyment is key. Choose a physical activity you enjoy. If you don’t enjoy it, you likely won’t stick with it. Possibly pick a sport such as bowling or slow-pitch softball to gain the benefits of social interaction in addition to the exercise benefits.
3. Make half your plate vegetables and fruits. Sometimes there is a cost to eating healthy, so look at “bulk” buying with friends to help with the costs.
